Corona virus has crept inexorably quick in the entire world. As a consequence, there is trouble in the world economy and sustainability. I picture this as a small drop of contamination in a bucket of water. However, it does affect the entire amount of water in the bucket. The water is unclean, and it substantially needs purification. This plague will end, and while this is still ongoing, God is working in ways that the world may not understand for only God's sovereign power shows His undertaking magnificent glory. Do you believe this? Well, for sure to some of you who would reject this truth would instead jump to another place of comfort. But to some of you who read along, be blessed!
To look at the world in its totality, I insist on looking at its mere location, nature, laws, and origin. I view this entire planet called earth as the only life-giving entity in the universe. And its origin? God! I wonder at God's marvelous thoughts upon this beautiful planet- His thoughts upon you and me! There is so much beauty in it, and the grandeur that is earth is an ever-glorious manifestation of God's greatness for you and me. But look outside of the sole-earth and the multiple possibilities of universes surrounding it. I mean, God, who thought all of these is so amazing that we can enjoy this reality every day! The infinite vastness of the universe only mirrors the infinite God who created it. But why God allowed such a thing like a corona virus to contaminate earth-His unique creation? I have three truths to share with you to expect great things from our infinite God.
Truth 1: I am under God's covering.
When we live in the love of our Almighty God through Christ Jesus His Son, we know that He covers us. (A video is found at the bottom of this page featuring my recent art work called Love of God.) However, we must still take measures to keep us from all harms. I would prefer not to enumerate those preventative measures; nevertheless, we must be keen on keeping ourselves healthy. Moreover, we must stay calm and do some research to give us more knowledge and understanding in this perilous time.
On top of taking precautions, actions, or ways to stay away from contracting the virus, we can dwell on the love of our God, which will help us live a life filled with joy and hope instead of turmoil and fear. It is easy to be bombarded with what is going on around us. Not only this pandemic attack our life, but daily we face so many more things- seen and unseen that can bring us down and steal our sanity. Satan (God's enemy), our enemy, is working to attack us (God's creation). You see, we are God's workmanship, and satan is dying to make us die! Our God, Jesus died to allow us to live! The time is running out for the enemy, and therefore he is doubling his time to bring us down. Are you going to allow him so? May we live in peace and assurance that God has us in His hands, depending on the truth that this present situation is not our destination. And that the enemy has already been defeated by our savior Jesus Christ.
Can we lean on this? Can we lean on our Creator God and savior? Certainly! He loves us that He died on the cross for us. He gives us great promises, which we can choose to dwell on now! I can only point you to the bible. It is a handy manual as we live day by day, presenting to us how faithful God is in His promises for His work of art. Psalm 91 verses 1-6 encourages us explicitly not to fear as we live in the covering of our Almighty God. Those first six verses empower us, and they give us blessed assurance. For further encouragement, read the entire chapter of Psalm 91!
Psalm 91 (NIV)
1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."
3 Surely he will save you
from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
Ponder:
Are you dwelling in the shelter of the Most High God? Does corona virus terrify you? Do you believe God is in control upon this situation?
Truth 2: Our world is contaminated, and we are saved.
Well, yes, this pandemic contaminated the world. Still, even before this pandemic, the world has been infected, infected with diseases, disasters, plagues, pestilences, injustice, unreasonable judgments, the wickedness of different shapes and sorts, disobedience, strife, war, etc. Too many to mention! We live in a world, although of its magnificent grandeur, there is a face of ugliness and darkness. All of the deformity and gloominess are of the power of darkness. The world is not perfect, and none of us is. However, this world was in God's divine decisions to create it excellent and good! In the beginning, this world was made perfect, but darkness/devil/satan/prince of death - God's enemy (our enemy) corrupted it. But God made a way to save this world-specifically us (His special and dear creation). And that is by sending His only Son Jesus to save us from all uncleanness and unrighteousness. Therefore, now, we have two choices: to keep ourselves contaminated or to be saved. Those who believed are saved!
God presents hope to all believers even in turbulence. Indeed, it is up to us if we would accept this God-given truth - living by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ or living sanctioned to utter disgrace of the world's uncertainties.
Also, my friends, God does not promise us all good when we believe in Him.
John 16: 33 (NIV)
" I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world!."
Ponder:
Father God, I want to receive Jesus in my heart right now as my personal savior. Thank you for hope through Jesus, who died and saved me from all unrighteousness of this world. Thank you that He rose from the dead showing me victory and that I can rely on Him as my living Lord and savior. Through your grace, God, I can walk with love and no fear. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Truth 3: Our infinite God is the beginning and the end.
I am amazed by the greatness of our infinite God. His greatness is unfathomable, and I cannot thank Him enough for who He is. My heart is full of gladness and thankfulness that I believe in an awe-inspiring, lavish, and gracious God. Check John 1:1.
The Beginning
John 1:1
1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
God created the heavens and the earth. Clear and simple, but many people still simply choose not to believe this truth. Another truth is that we have two choices: to believe and not to believe. I opt to disregard the latter. Believing allows me to enjoy God's goodness. Once one believes, then he or she will be able to taste and see that God is good. With disbelief, one can never experience such awesome joy. How can one not believe that there is this One Almighty God, who is the source of the universe? He is the beginning and the end. He knows the past, the present, and the future. He called us by name. And, He had shown himself victorious over the antagonistic deception, devices, and derailment of satan against us.
Furthermore, God is just. He cast wickedness into the pit of fire. God had already given judgment to the power of darkness, and its destination is eternal agony.
Revelation 20:14
Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.
Note that the second death is a no ending death. Therefore, I implore you to believe in God. Believe in the power of His grace through His one and only Son Jesus Christ. When you allow Him to be the King of your heart, rest assured that He will be with you through the Holy Spirit.
Ponder:
Jesus, teach me to live life with you. Make me walk with you every step of the way so that I can be awestruck by your goodness and wonders.
We are in a world filled with contamination. We are the water in the bucket contaminated with so much anguish, filthiness, guilt, and chaos. The water needs purification process to become clean again. As human beings, we can be purified by only receiving Jesus in our hearts. Our purification with Jesus takes a process. Are you willing to be cleansed? Invite Him in your heart and let Him wash you whiter than snow and live fearlessly.
Nicely said. We as Christians have no need to fear. There will always be a latest and greatest virus on the horizon, but we are to live in confidence that God is with us in all things. My hope is in Him. We walk by faith not by fear. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. If anything maybe this pandemic and resulting quarantine will allow people the time out of their normal routines to think about the deeper things and turn to Jesus.
